PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Junior
Andrew Miles had two hits to lead the Lebanon Valley College baseball team in a tough 8-0 loss to Wittenberg University on Monday night in Port Charlotte.
The Tigers (3-1) scored four runs in the third inning and then added one in the fourth, one in the seventh, and two in the eighth. The Dutchmen (1-4) will face Wittenberg again on Thursday.
Inside the Box Score
- The Dutchmen recorded seven hits in the game led by Miles with two. LVC drew four walks with Pete Botbyl recording two of them.
- Lebanon Valley loaded the bases in the fourth and sixth innings. Both times the Tigers manages to get out of the innings with no runs crossing the plate.
- Brendan Landry threw 2.2 innings of scoreless relief with one strikeout and one hit allowed.
- Nico Santoro extended his hitting streak to three games and has at least one hit in four our of five games to begin the season.
Who's Next
The Dutchmen will be right back at Centennial Park early in the morning to take on Bluffton University. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Field #9.
