Veronica Venezia recorded three points on two goals and one assist to lead the Lebanon Valley College women's lacrosse team in a 19-4 defeat at the hands of 10th-ranked The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) on Saturday in Ewing, N.J.
The host Lions (2-0), who were playing their first home game of the year, scored the first nine goals of the game before Venezia put the Dutchmen on the board with her seventh goal of the year in the second quarter. TCNJ outshot LVC 43-15 in the contest
Inside the Numbers
- Venezia recorded her team-leading 10th assist of the year and currently tops the team with 18 points. She has scored eight goals this year on just 14 shots on goal. She has also recorded multiple points in all four games this season.
- Brittany Hathaway continued her hot start to the year with her team-leading 12th goal and an assist. She has scored in every game so far.
- Sydney Zimmerman also recorded two points on one goal and an assist to give her eight goals and three assists on the season.
- The Dutchmen won 12 of 26 draw controls as Hathaway led the squad with six. She has won five or more draw controls in all four games this year.
Who's Next
The Dutchmen will head south to Fredericksburg, Va. On Tuesday for a 4 p.m. contest at University of Mary Washington for LVC's first of two games in Virginia next week.
