FREDERICK, Md.— The Lebanon Valley women's lacrosse team started off MAC Commonwealth play with a 17-11 win over Hood College on Wednesday evening.
Veronica Venezia had a stellar nine-point game and tallied her 300
th career point.
Brittany Hathaway also had a strong game, putting six goals in the back of the cage.
Lebanon Valley (5-5 Overall, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) did not hesitate to get on the board, as Hathaway put the first goal in the back of the cage less than a minute into the contest. The first quarter of the match-up was the busiest for the attack of both the Dutchmen and Hood (4-5 Overall, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth). LVC pulled out of the first quarter leading 8-5. At half, the Dutchmen led the Blazers 10-6. In the third quarter, Venezia tallied her 300
th career point at 7:12 with an unassisted goal. As the fourth quarter began, LVC did not let up any pressure on attack, as the Dutchmen netted four more goals finalizing the 17-11 conference win.

- Venezia and Hathaway again had strong offensive games. Venezia led Lebanon Valley with an nine-point game, scoring four goals and dishing out five assists. Hathaway topped goal-scoring on the evening by putting six shots in the back of the cage.
- Julia Gabriel and Sydney Zimmerman both had multi-point games for the Dutchmen. Gabriel contributed a hat trick with two goals in the first half and one in the fourth quarter. Zimmerman had four points on the evening with two goals and two assists.
- Julia Abendschoen had a great game in cage for the Dutchmen, picking up 13 saves and three ground balls.
- Lebanon Valley out shot Hood 38-33 in the contest and went 17-22 on clears, including a 3-3 in the first quarter and 4-4 in the third.
Who's Next
On Saturday, the Dutchmen will continue their MAC Commonwealth play against Albright College on Arnold Field. The women's lacrosse team will be playing the game in dedication of Morgan's Message. First draw is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
