ANNVILLE, Pa. – Junior
Julia Abendschoen made her 200th career save for the Lebanon Valley women's lacrosse team on Saturday while making a career-high 19 saves in a hard-fought defeat to Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom defending champion FDU-Florham.
Abendschoen made her milestone save at 11:16 of the first quarter. FDU-Florham (5-1) jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one quarter of play. The Devils increased their lead to 12-2 at halftime. LVC (4-5) had a 7-2 advantage in draw controls during the second quarter. FDU-Florham outscored the Dutchmen 6-2 in the second half to win 18-4.

- Abendschoen stopped five shots in the first quarter, four in the second, three in the third, and then seven in the fourth quarter. The junior now has 218 career saves.
- Veronica Venezia began the scoring for the Dutchmen in the second quarter with her 27th goal of the year. Erin Zieber had the assist.
- Brittany Hathaway led the team with six draw controls and assisted three goals. Sydney Zimmerman, Zieber, and Livia Jackson scored for the Dutchmen.
- Gabby Boyer led the squad with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
- LVC was 13-for-19 on clear attempts including a perfect 4-for-4 in the third quarter.
Who's Next
Lebanon Valley will set their sights on conference play with a trip down to Hood College on Wednesday. The opening draw is scheduled for 5 p.m. in Frederick, Maryland in the MAC Commonwealth opener.
