UTICA, N.Y. – Senior
Justin Hall scored his third goal of the year and 12th goal of his career as the Lebanon Valley College men's ice hockey team saw their season end with a 11-1 defeat at the hands of second-ranked and top-seeded Utica University in the quarterfinals of the United Collegiate Hockey Conference Tournament on Tuesday at the Adirondack Bank Center.
Utica scored the first four goals of the game before Hall scored on the power-play with 1:22 left in the first period. The Pioneers used a seven-goal second period to set the final score.
Inside the Numbers
- Mac Diver and Darion Benchich recorded assists on the goal. Diver recorded his fifth assist of the year while Benchich recorded his ninth assist and 15th points of the season.
- Ty Franchi made 30 saves in goal while Gabriel stopped 15 shots in just under 30 minutes of relief.
- Blake Tosto won a team-high 11 faceoffs on 19 attempts and took three shots.
- Hall finished with a team-high five shots including four in the first period.
- The Dutchmen finished the season with six wins, their most in a season since 2018-19 when they won nine and also had their season end in the UCHC Quarterfinals.
