Beard Records First Career Hat Trick For Women’s Lacrosse

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Sophomore midfielder Emily Beard scored a career-high three goals for the Lebanon Valley College women's lacrosse team in a 14-12 loss to Dickinson College on Saturday on Arnold Field.

The Flying Dutchmen's big fourth quarter rally fell just short to the Red Devils in a tightly-contested battle. Dickinson built a 12-6 lead through three quarters before the Dutchmen used a 6-2 run in the fourth quarter to make it a two-goal game.

Inside the Numbers
  • Beard also recorded an assist for four points on the day. Brittany Hathaway and Sydney Zimmerman also had three goals and one assist to pace the LVC offense.
  • The Dutchmen had a good day on draw controls winning 16 of 30. Hathaway, Bailey Dills, and Veronica Venezia had five each to lead the team.
  • LVC took 27 shots putting 21 of them on goal. The team also held a 19-16 advantage in ground balls.
  • Hathaway continued her torrid start to the year with three more goals to give her 10 for the week. Venezia added a goal and an assist to up her point total to 13 on six goals and seven assists.
  • The Dutchmen were successful on 16 of their 19 clear attempts in the game.
Who's Next
LVC will be off during the week before hitting the road for the first time this season next Saturday with a trip up I-81 to take on the University of Scranton at 12 pm on Weiss Field. The Royals opened up their season this afternoon dropping a 9-0 decision at Messiah and will also have the week off prior to facing the Dutchmen.
