HERSHEY, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's ice hockey team slotted their first conference win of the season with a 2-0 victory over the Neumann Knights on Friday evening.
Lebanon Valley (2-5-1 Overall, 1-3-1 UCHC) and the Knights fought through the first period to go into the second period scoreless. In the second period, it was not until 19:40, when
Darion Benchich put away an unassisted goal for the Dutchmen to take the 1-0 lead going into the third. In the third period,
Brad Viola put away a goal at 8:51 off assists from
Darion Benchich and
Blake Tosto to finalize a 2-0 victory for LVC.
Inside the Box
- Benchich had a two-point evening with a goal and an assist.
- Viola put away one goal, as Tosto tallied one assist.
- Dylan Gutierrez led the shots column with five. Jered Stevenson and Haralds Jirgens followed with four a piece.
- Ty Franchi made 28 saves for the Dutchmen, tallying another shutout.
- The Dutchmen out shot Neumann 31-28 on goal.
