ANNVILLE, Pa. – Riley Hevelow led the Lebanon Valley women's basketball team to two big wins last week and was selected as the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) Player of the Week in a release by the conference office on Monday.
 
Hevelow had a monster week to lead the Dutchmen to a pair of conference wins at York and over Hood scoring 33 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. The guard started the week with 13 points including the game-winning free throws with six seconds left in a 49-47 victory at York. Hevelow then had her best game of the year with her first career double-double and season-highs of 20 points and 10 rebounds to power the Dutchmen to a 55-49 comeback victory over Hood. After a slow start by the Dutchmen gave Hood the first 12 points of the game and an 18-7 first quarter lead, Hevelow scored all 20 of her points over the final three quarters including eight in the fourth quarter. The guard gave LVC their first lead of the game with 3:16 left on a fastbreak layup to finish off a personal 6-0 run.
 
The conference award is the first for Hevelow in her career and the first for LVC since 2020 when Emily Mealey was honored on February 17.
 
LVC will be back in Sorrentino Gymnasium for their final home game of 2022 on Saturday with a 2 p.m. tip against Moravian University.
