PITTSBURGH, Pa.— The Lebanon Valley men's ice hockey squad concluded their weekend series at Chatham and fell 3-2 on Saturday evening.
Lebanon Valley (2-8-1, 1-6-1 UCHC) opened scoring on the evening with a goal from
Chris Mingus at 2:46 off a puck from
Max Loga. LVC went into the second period with the 1-0 lead. In the second period, the Cougars took advantage of a 5-on-3 opportunity to put their first goal away at 9:08, and then netted their second goal during the remaining power play advantage at 10:36 to make it a 2-1 game. At 12:56,
Dylan Miller tied up the contest for the Dutchmen with assists from
Harris Blackwood and
Brenden Yingling. The two teams entered the third period with a tied 2-2 match. The third period consisted of a hard-fought duel between both squads, but it was the Cougars who put a goal away at 17:36 to take the 3-2 victory over LVC.
Inside the Box
- Mingus and Miller each put away goals for the Dutchmen.
- Blackwood, Loga, and Yingling each dished out an assist in the contest.
- Artem Mikhaylov led the shots column with four. Darion Benchich, Dylan Miller, Blake Tosto, and Brad Viola each put up three shots.
- Haralds Jirgens topped the blocks column with four and Loga followed with two.
- Tosto dominated for LVC faceoffs going 12-18.
- Ty Franchi stood in between the pipes for the Dutchmen, making 26 saves.

The Dutchmen will enter a four week break from games and will be back in action on Jan. 7 at the Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational. LVC is slotted to face SUNY Brockport at 5:40 p.m.
