Lebanon Valley Women’s Soccer Ready For Rematch With York In MAC Commonwealth Semifinal

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's soccer team will travel down to York College of Pennsylvania for the second time in five days on Wednesday to face the Spartans in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) Semifinal. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Graham Field.
 
The Dutchmen were the first team to qualify for the conference championships and finished the regular season third after a pair of hard-fought defeats to top-seeded Messiah University and York during the final week. The Spartans scored a 73rd minute goal on Saturday to defeat LVC and earn the second seed. This is the second consecutive year the teams will square off in the semifinals. Last year the Spartans won 2-0 on Herbert Field after LVC won the regular season matchup 2-1. Messiah will host fifth-seeded Widener in the other semifinal on Wednesday. The winners will play for the Championship on Saturday at the site of the higher seed. Ticket prices for all matches are set by the conference office and are as follows:
Adults - $5
Senior Citizens - $4
Students (valid ID) & Children - $2
Pre-school (under 6) with Adult – FREE
 
Alyssa Peiffer leads the offense with nine points on four goals and one assist. The senior scored game-winning goals at Albright and at Stevenson. The Dutchmen have six different players with two goals each. Sierra Young is second on the team with six points on two goals and two assists. Both of her assists came in a 3-0 win over Alvernia. Alison Sepkovic has two goals and an assist as a first-year midfielder.
 
Darrian Berkheimer, Hannah Ferguson, Jordan Lasky, and Kyra Rishell have all recorded two goals on the season. Ferguson, who anchors the defense, scored both of her goals against Widener. Rishell has been dangerous on free kicks for the Dutchmen scoring at Albright and at Eastern on beautifully placed shots. Kaitlyn Brumbaugh and Emma Houck have recorded a goal and an assist each while Madison Carper has a team-high three assists.
 
Jocelyn Umana has recorded four shutouts in goal while making 95 saves. The junior has an excellent 1.56 goals-against average and .792 save percentage.
 
Lebanon Valley was fourth in the conference in points and goals scored and was third in assists. The Dutchmen were third in saves per game with 5.94 and fourth in goals allowed.
