Women’s Tennis Defeats Penn State Harrisburg In Marathon Match

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College women's tennis team won five of the six singles matches to defeat Penn State Harrisburg 6-3 on Thursday afternoon at the Shankroff Tennis Center in Annville.
 
The Lions (2-1) won two of the three doubles matches to take an early lead on the Dutchmen. LVC (3-1) won five of the singles matches with four matches needing a third set to be decided. The Dutchmen won three of the four three-setters.
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Abbey DeLisio and Brianna Trace were the lone doubles winner with an 8-2 victory at number three to improve to 3-1 on the year when playing together.
  • Livia Jackson won her number three singles match 6-4, 6-3 to even the score at two while improving to 5-1.
  • Nicole Honrade gave the Dutchmen the lead with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory at number one singles to improve to 5-1 this fall.
  • Sarah Kramer also came back after losing the first set to earn a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory at number two singles.
  • Madison Poladian clinched the win for the Dutchmen with the shortest singles match of the day with a 6-0, 6-0 win at number six.
  • Eliana Shenk scored the final point of the night for the Dutchmen with a hard-fought 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-8 three set victory to improve to 6-1 this fall.
  • The win was LVC's 11th consecutive win at the Shankroff Tennis Center dating back to last spring.
