GRANTHAM, Pa. – The fifth-seeded Lebanon Valley College volleyball team fought hard for three sets in a season-ending 3-0 defeat at fourth-seeded Messiah University in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Play-In game on Monday evening at Hitchcock Arena in Grantham.
The host Falcons got off to a strong start building a 15-7 lead in the first set. LVC was able to cut the deficit down to three points on a great run with
Robyn Stepler serving. Messiah responded with a run of their own to take the opening set 25-18. The second set was a thriller with both teams trading points for a majority of the set. Messiah scored three straight points late in the set to take a 23-19 lead before winning 25-20. The Dutchmen fought hard in the third set not allowing to Falcons to go up by more than three points until s 3-0 run gave Messiah a 21-17 lead. Lebanon Valley was able to get within a point at 24-23 but the Falcons scored the final point ending the match.

- The Dutchmen had three players with double-digit digs. Kasey Thomas had 12 while Taylor McInerney and Ali Whitworth had 11 each.
- McInerney had 12 kills to finish the season with an outstanding 428 which is sixth in program history.
- Whitworth had 23 assists and three kills.
- Margaret Cole had seven kills while Mattea Penner added six.
- Stepler contributed all over the court with four kills, three assists, three aces, and one dig.
