YORK, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's soccer team had another strong defensive performance in their regular season finale on Saturday at York College of Pennsylvania. The host Spartans won the postseason preview 1-0 on a 73rd minute goal.
The Dutchmen and Spartans entered the game knowing they would most likely be facing each other in Wednesday's Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth semifinals with the winner of Saturday's contest holding home-field advantage. LVC went right after the Spartans as
Darrian Berkheimer put a shot on goal just 45 seconds in. The teams went back-and-forth throughout the first half with neither team able to find the back of the net.
The start of the second half started very similar to the first with
Kyra Rishell taking the first shot of the half in the 50th minute. The Dutchmen held the Spartans without a shot in the half until the 73rd minute when they scored the only goal of the game.

LVC will travel back down to second-seeded York on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. start in the semifinal contest. This will mark the second straight year the teams have met in the semifinals with the Dutchmen looking to return the favor of the Spartans winning at Herbert Field last year after Lebanon Valley won the regular season meeting.
