Kmet Makes Season-High 12 Saves At Messiah

GRANTHAM, Pa. – Sophomore Kayleigh Kmet stopped a season-high 12 shots for the Lebanon Valley field hockey team in a hard-fought game to end the season at eighth-ranked Messiah. The host Falcons wrapped up a perfect conference slate with a 4-0 victory on Anderson Field in Grantham.
 
Messiah scored twice late in the first quarter to take the lead. The Falcons got on the board in the 13th minute and then again just over a minute later to go up 2-0. The Dutchmen locked up on defense and held the host scoreless in the second quarter. LVC had a chance to cut the deficit in half early in the second half when they were awarded a penalty stroke. Skylar Dise stepped up and her shot just went wide of the cage keeping the score 2-0. Messiah increased their lead with a pair of goals in the 40th and 44th minutes.

  • Kmet faced a season-high 16 shots and had a .750 save percentage in the game. She finished the year with a 2.21 GAA and .679 save percentage.
  • Dise and Emily Kline had two shots apiece to lead the Dutchmen attack.
  • Sorrell Long, Alana Antonello, and Elena Tulli recorded a shot each.
What's Next
The Dutchmen finished the season with a 7-10 overall record and 3-5 mark in conference play.
