ANNVILLE, Pa. – A Zach Reed cross to the head of Lucas Strange in the 89th minute gave the Lebanon Valley Men's Soccer team a 2-1 win over TCNJ in a physical bout on Sunday afternoon. The Dutchmen are 2-0 on the young season while the Lions drop to 0-2.

How It Happened
  • The two teams played a physical match for 90 minutes as the two sides combined for 22 fouls and three bookings.
  • TCNJ would get on the board first in the 17th minute of the contest when Luke Pascarella gathered a rebound in the middle of the box and was able to tuck a one-timer into the right corner to give the Lions an early 1-0 lead. That score would hold through the rest of the half.
  • Just over six minutes into the second half, one of those 22 fouls in the game led to LVC's first goal of the match. Zach Reed curled in a left-footed set piece from the right wing following a Lion foul that would sneak through the hands of the TCNJ keeper to tie the game up 1-1.
  • In the 89th minute, Reed would swing in a cross, this time from the left wing, that would sky over the Lion defenders and find the head of the streaking Lucas Strange who placed the ball in the left corner of the net to put LVC ahead 2-1. The Lions would be unable to find an equalizer in the final minute as LVC picked up their second come-from-behind win in as many days.
Inside The Numbers
  • Lucas Strange's game-winner in the 89th minute was his third goal of the season.
  • Zach Reed scored his first goal of the 2021 season while also registering his first career assist.
  • Luke Pascarella netted the lone goal for TCNJ.
  • Sean Quirk made four saves in net for the Dutchmen to pick up his first win on the season.
  • LVC outshot the Lions 19-10 with a 7-5 advantage with shots on frame.
  • TCNJ committed 14 fouls and had three bookings compared to LVC's eight fouls.
