How It Happened
LANCASTER, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Field Hockey Team was defeated 3-0 by No. 6 Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday in a non-conference matchup. The Dutchmen fell to 1-5, while the Diplomats improved to 3-2.
  • The Diplomats struck first when Darby Klopp registered her second goal of the season 12:22 into the first quarter.
  • The second quarter began with a chance from LVC's Rachel Wright that was stopped by Diplomat goalie, Sydney Lippe. 10:57 into the second quarter, the Diplomats increased their lead to 2-0 after a goal by Jessica Miller. Less than a minute later, Miller scored her second of the game to give the Diplomats a 3-0 lead heading into halftime. 
  • In the third, Franklin & Marshall's defense stifled the Dutchmen attack and held LVC off the scoreboard.
  • The Dutchmen carried a large portion of the play in the fourth quarter, registering numerous shots throughout the frame. The Diplomat defense held strong, however, and LVC ultimately fell by a score of 3-0.
Inside the Numbers
  • Rachel Wright and Lexi Ward each registered a pair of shots for the Dutchmen.
  • Corrine Kearney made one save in net for LVC.
  • The Diplomats outshot the Dutchmen 7-6.
  • The Diplomats held a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal.

LVC opens up conference play on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when they host No. 7 Messiah University on Arnold Field.
