W. Tennis Falls In Close 5-4 Match vs. DeSales

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Women's Tennis dropped a tight 5-4 match to DeSales in the team's first home match of the fall portion of their schedule at Shankroff Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon. LVC falls to 0-1 while the Bulldogs sit at 1-0.

The Dutchmen finished off the doubles portion of the match with a 2-1 advantage. The duo of Meredith Haas and Jacquelyn McBride picked up a quick 8-2 victory to start the day at #1 doubles. The #2 doubles duo of Madison Poladian and Eliana Shenk battled for an 8-5 win to give LVC the advantage headed into singles play.
 
In singles play, the Bulldogs took four of the six matches over the Dutchmen. Winners for LVC were Haas at #2 singles who won a marathon match in three sets, including a 7-6 (8-6) first set win, before winning the third set 10-2. Shenk picked up a stress-free straight-set victory at #4 singles for the other Dutchmen singles winner.

The Flying Dutchmen are back in action next Wednesday when they travel to take on Penn State Harrisburg. The match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. in Middletown, Pa.
