ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Women's Tennis dropped a tight 5-4 match to DeSales in the team's first home match of the fall portion of their schedule at Shankroff Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon. LVC falls to 0-1 while the Bulldogs sit at 1-0.
The Dutchmen finished off the doubles portion of the match with a 2-1 advantage. The duo of
Meredith Haas and
Jacquelyn McBride picked up a quick 8-2 victory to start the day at #1 doubles. The #2 doubles duo of
Madison Poladian and
Eliana Shenk battled for an 8-5 win to give LVC the advantage headed into singles play.
In singles play, the Bulldogs took four of the six matches over the Dutchmen. Winners for LVC were Haas at #2 singles who won a marathon match in three sets, including a 7-6 (8-6) first set win, before winning the third set 10-2. Shenk picked up a stress-free straight-set victory at #4 singles for the other Dutchmen singles winner.
