How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley shut out Albright 9-0 and enforced the mercy rule in the opening game of today's doubleheader between the Flying Dutchmen and the Lions in MAC Commonwealth Softball action.

It was all LVC right from the beginning as the Dutchmen picked up where they left off yesterday in Reading after outscoring Albright 34-0 on Friday in a doubleheader sweep. Sam Burns got LVC going in the bottom of the first with an RBI-double down the left field line, and then in the second frame, Danni Holmes tripled to left center to plate Sarah Musselman to make it a 2-0 game. After Jen Kaufman reached on an error to score Holmes, Burns singled home Kaufman and later scored on another Albright error in the second to make it 5-0.

With Jordan Walter pitching lights-out on the mound, the Dutchmen's offense continued to lick in the bottom of the third with Lia D'Angelo's sacrifice fly. Later, Jessica Truitt scored on a wild pitch and Hannah Bashore took advantage of a Lions' error to put her team up 8-0. Walter continued to cruise, and for good measure, Erin Sinatra added an RBI-single in the bottom of the fourth, as LVC won easily at 9-0 in four and a half innings.

Inside the Numbers (Game One)
 - Walter picked up her second win of the season after tossing five innings. She allowed just three hits and struck out a pair. She needed just 64 pitches to earn the win.
 - At the plate, Burns and Musselman each recorded two hits. Musselman and Kaufman each scored twice, while Burns had a game-high two RBI. Kaufman and Musselman also added two stolen bags apiece.

How It Happened
In game two of this afternoon's doubleheader, LVC was fueled by an eight-run first inning en route to a massive 18-0 victory over the Lions. With the two wins today, the Dutchmen improved to 7-8, 7-8 MACC, while Albright fell to 0-12, 0-12 MACC.

In their four-game regular-season series with the Lions, LVC outscored Albright 61-0 and the Dutchmen's pitching and defense allowed Albright to reach third base just once in four games.

Tori Hunyara got things started for LVC in the bottom of the first with her RBI-triple to center that scored Kaufman. After Hunyara scored on a wild pitch, Walter drew a bases-loaded walk, and Musselman stepped up to the plate and ripped a ground ball to right-center that made it all the way to the way. The speedy Musselman made it all the way home for the grand slam, her first-career home run.

The Dutchmen continued to pour it on and scored five runs in both the second and third innings. Getting the start inside the circle, Sinatra tossed yet another complete-game shutout for LVC in its dominant 18-0 win.

Inside the Numbers (Game Two)
 - Sinatra picked up her first-collegiate win after going five innings. She gave up just one hit and struck out six.
 - Hunyara went 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBI and two runs scored.
 - Musselman was 3-for-3 at the dish with four RBI and three runs scored.
 - Julia Craig added three hits for LVC.
 - Kylie Balthaser and Bashore each had two hits.
 - As a team, LVC racked up 16 hits.
