ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's tennis team bounced back from their first loss of the season with a resounding 9-0 win over Messiah University on Tuesday afternoon. The Dutchmen improve to 5-1, 2-1 MACC while the Falcons fall to 1-5, 0-4 MACC.
In doubles play, the Dutchmen picked up their three wins with relative ease. The top duo of
Nicole Honrade and
Jacquelyn McBride won their match 8-2, the #2 doubles team of
Meredith Haas and
Madison Poladian picked up an 8-4 win, and
Zoe Birch and
Emily Wilczek at #3 doubles were victorious 8-2.
In singles play, all six victories by the Dutchmen were in straight sets to complete the 9-0 sweep over the Falcons. Some headlining matches including
Meridyth Sanders sweeping her match 6-0, 6-0 at the #5 singles position. McBride, the reigning MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week, also had a dominating performance as she dropped just two games in her 6-1, 6-1 victory at #2 singles.
