READING Pa. – The Lebanon Valley softball team got their offense clicking as they outscored Albright 34-0 for the day en route to a pair of routs in the sweep over the Lions. LVC took game one 21-0, the 21 runs being the most in a single game for LVC since they scored 23 in a 23-13 victory over Marywood back on March 11, 2016. The Dutchmen would complete the sweep with a 13-0 win in game two. LVC improves to 5-8, 5-8 MACC while Albrights drops to 0-10, 0-10 MACC on the season.
LVC wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the opener as they plated nine runs in the first inning. The Dutchmen used five hits and took advantage of three Lion errors to pick up the nine runs. The first two runs would come as
Jen Kaufman and
Tori Hunyara scored on back-to-back wild pitches. Later in the inning,
Jessica Truitt would single to center to bring home two more runs, followed by an RBI-single from
Hannah Bashore. The final runs of the opening inning came via a pair of errors, a wild pitch, and an infield single by Hunyara.
The Dutchmen would pile it on in the top half of the third scoring 12 runs in the frame. LVC needed just three hits as the Lion pitchers struggled to find the strike zone as the Dutchmen drew 11 walks and were hit by a pair of pitches in the inning. The inning was headlines when
Jordan Walter hit a grand slam to left field for her first career homer. In the circle,
Sarah Musselman was spectacular as she shut out the Albright offense and struck out eight batter as LVC coasted to the 21-0 game one victory.
Inside The Numbers
- LVC's 21 runs are the most in a single game since March of 2016 when the Dutchmen scored 23 against Marywood.
- Jordan Walter smacked a grand slam for her first collegiate round-tripper.
- Sarah Musselman tossed a complete game shutout with eight strikeouts and allowing just two hits. The eight K's are a new career-high for Musselman.
- Dutchmen hitters drew 17 walks and picked up 12 hits on the afternoon.

Game two was much of the same for the Dutchmen offense however they pounded out a season-high 19 hits. LVC opened up with three runs in the first inning scoring on a
Kylie Balthaser groundout, an
Alyssa Hamilton single, and a
Sam Burns single to grab the early 3-0 lead.
The Dutchmen would score seven more runs in the top of the third inning, starting with a two-run homer by Hamilton. LVC would pick up RBI from
Erin Sinatra, Kaufman, and Hunyara in the inning to push their lead out to double digits. The Dutchmen would cap the scoring in the fifth with three runs on RBI-singles from Balthaser, Hamilton, and
Sam Burns.
Emma Kelliher tossed a complete-game shutout with four strikeouts as LVC cruised to the game two win, 13-0.
Inside The Numbers
- Alyssa Hamilton recorded her first career homer in the game two win while also driving in a career-best four runs.
- Seven different Dutchmen hitters had multiple hits, led by Hamilton, Kylie Balthaser, and Sam Burns with three each.
- Emma Kelliher was outstanding in the circle, needing just 63 pitches in the shutout win.
- LVC stole eight bases in the win, three of which coming from Jen Kaufman.

The Dutchmen will host these Lions tomorrow afternoon in another doubleheader. First pitch at LVC Softball Park is scheduled for 1 p.m.
