YORK, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's tennis team suffered their first loss of 2021 in a tight 5-4 match at the hands of York College (Pa.) on Monday afternoon. The Dutchmen fall to 4-1, 1-1 MACC while the Spartans improve to 5-1, 3-0 MACC on the season.
In doubles play, the Dutchmen managed to take one of the three matches against the Spartans.
Nicole Honrade and
Jacquelyn McBride picked up the lone doubles victory for LVC at the #1 doubles position by an 8-5 score.
In singles play, the two teams split 3-and-3, giving York the entire match victory 5-4. Most the matches were tightly contested including a pair of three-setters that LVC ended up on the wrong side of both. The Dutchmen winners were McBride 6-4, 6-1 at #2 singles,
Emily Wilczek 6-2, 6-3 at the #5 singles slot, and
Meridyth Sanders 6-1, 6-1 at the #6 spot.
