How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dropped a 17-5 decision to No. 15 Messiah University on Saturday night in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Women's Lacrosse action. The Flying Dutchmen fell to 5-6, 3-4 MACC and the Falcons stayed perfect and improved to 12-0, 7-0 MACC.

Veronica Venezia were honored on Senior Night.

The visiting Falcons got off to a hot start this evening and never looked back. Messiah's Grace Gormley netted the first two goals of the night, followed by AbbyEllen Wood's tally at 20:39. Gormley then completed the hat trick with another goal at 15:54 and the Falcons went on to score five more goals to take a 9-0 lead. At 4:29, the Dutchmen got on the board with a goal by
Jaclyn Little, and just over a minute later, Little netted her second of the game, but Messiah answered with two consecutive goals to finish up the half and take an 11-2 lead into the second.

In second-half action, the Falcons continued to extend their lead and began the half with five consecutive tallies to go up 16-2. Then, with 16:06 remaining,
Livia Jackson netted her eighth of the season, followed by
Emily Beard's 14th of the year. Then, with 2:31 left,
Sydney Zimmerman scored her 16th goal of the year, but it wasn't enough and the Dutchmen eventually fell by a 17-5 margin.

 - Little finished with two goals and a pair of assists.

Julia Abendschoen made two saves and scooped up three ground balls.

Gabby Boyer caused a turnover a picked up a pair of ground balls.

 - LVC led in shots (28-25), but the Falcons held a 22-16 edge in shots on goal.
 - LVC was 15-for-16 in clears and the Falcons went 17-for-19.
 - The Dutchmen led in total ground balls at 10-8.

Playoff Picture
With just one conference game remaining for the Dutchmen, LVC currently sits in sixth in the MAC at 3-4. Messiah (7-0), York (6-1), Stevenson (4-2), Albright (4-3), and Widener (4-3) all sit in front of the Dutchmen, respectively. Quarterfinal action is set for April 27th, when the #8 will play at #1, #5 at #4, #6 at #3, and #7 at #2.
