How It Happened
ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Lebanon Valley got back in the win column after easily defeating Eastern University 24-5 on Thursday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Women's Lacrosse action. The Flying Dutchmen, who tied the program record for the most goals in one game, improved to 5-5, 3-3 MACC, while the Eagles dropped to 1-8, 0-7 MACC.

LVC quickly got on the board when Sydney Zimmerman scored from Brittany Hathaway just 2:07 in the game. Erin Zieber then netted her eighth of the season, followed by Hathaway's goal at 27:28. The Dutchmen continued to pour it on with Veronica Venezia's down goal and Livia Jackson netted her seventh of the season at 23:20 to put LVC up 5-0. The Dutchmen went on to net four more until Eastern was able to finally find the back of the net at 19:36 to make it a 9-1 score.

LVC responded with five consecutive goals, including two from Hathaway, but at 6:07 of the opening half, the Eagles' Carly Burns stopped the spurt, however the visiting Dutchmen still held a comfortable 14-2 advantage. From there, Jaclyn Little scored her 22nd goal of the season and later, Kate Baker scored her first goal of the season to give LVC a dominant 16-3 lead at halftime.

Eastern opened up the second half with back-to-back tallies, but Zieber scored at 26:53 to make it a 17-5 game. From there, LVC's defense took over and didn't allow the Eagles to find the back of the net again en route to a 24-5 thrashing.
