How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Men's Basketball team continued one of its best starts in recent memory after thrashing Alvernia University 87-71 on Thursday evening in MAC Commonwealth Men's Basketball action. The Flying Dutchmen stayed perfect and improved to 6-0, 5-0 MACC, while the Golden Wolves dropped to 2-1, 2-1 MACC.

LVC shot lights out in the first half en route to a 50-point opening period. With 14:05 left
Bryce Diehl knocked down a trey from
Luis Garcia to give the Dutchmen a 14-9 advantage. That triple sparked a 12-5 spurt, which was finished off by an
AJ Catanzaro 3-pointer, to make it a 26-14 lead for the home squad. From there, the Dutchmen continued their hot shooting and held a double-digit lead for the remainder of the half. At the 3:06 mark, LVC held its biggest advantage of the period after
Luis Garcia's fastbreak layup made it an 18-point lead. For the half, the Dutchmen shot 64% from the floor and 57% from beyond the arc and took a 50-33 lead into the second half.

In the early going of the second half, the Golden Wolves hung around and cut LVC's lead to 12 at 58-46 with 15:06 remaining, and then later finally cut it to single digits off Keon Taylor's jumper at 13:52 to make it 60-51, but
Collin Jones answered with a layup to put LVC back up by 11 at 62-51. The home team continued to lead comfortably and with 3:20 to go,
Zach Tucker's fastbreak layup gave LVC its biggest lead of the game at 84-63. The Dutchmen went on to win easily at 87-71 for their best start since 1998-98.

Inside the Numbers
 - The reigning MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week,
Collin Jones, continued his impressive season by scoring a game-high 29 points on 10-of-14 shooting. He added seven rebounds for the Dutchmen.

Zach Tucker poured in 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting and added four rebounds, two assists, and a pair of steals.
 -
Jeremy Deihm netted 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting and brought down eight rebounds.
 -
Luis Garcia finished with eight points.

Justin Baker netted seven points.
 - Malik Green paced Alvernia's offense with 20 points and Keon Taylor added 17.
 - LVC shot 59.3% from the floor, while the Golden Wolves shot 40.4%.
 - The Dutchmen dominated in points in the paint at 48-18.
 - LVC also led in points off turnovers at 17-15.
