How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – A key 6-0 run in the second half powered Lebanon Valley past Albright by a 15-11 score on Wednesday night in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Women's Lacrosse action. The Flying Dutchmen improved to 3-2, 1-1 MACC, while the Lions fell to 2-3, 1-2 MACC.

A milestone was reached this evening as Veronica Venezia eclipsed the 200-career point mark.

With Albright head 9-8 with 24:16 remaining in regulation, Erin Zieber's third goal of the season evened the game at 9-9. Zieber's goal sparked an all-important 6-0 run by LVC, as Brittany Hathaway scored three times during the spurt, and Bailey Dills and Jaclyn Little each netted a goal as LVC went up by five at 14-9 with 17:25 left. Less than a minute later, Katelyn Patrick brought the visitors to within one, but Dills' unassisted goal at 8:50 gave LVC its five-goal lead back, and the Lions were unable to mount a comeback thanks to key saves by Julia Abendschoen and stout defense.

The Lions were the first to score at 26:49 of the first half, but LVC responded in similar fashion to their second-half spurt and netted six in a row, including a pair from Hathaway, to go up 6-1. Albright responded five straight tallies to come even at 6-6, but with 1:12 left in the first, Sydney Zimmerman found the back of the net off an assist from Veronica Venezia to give the Dutchmen a one-goal lead heading into halftime.
