How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Women's Lacrosse team broke the program record for most goals in a season in a 24-3 thrashing of Lycoming on Thursday afternoon in non-conference action. The Flying Dutchmen improved to 2-1, while the Warriors dropped to 0-2.

In addition to the program record for most goals, which was previously 22 against Hood in 2018, Veronica Venezia netted her 100th career goal and Morgan Ernst scooped up her 100th career ground ball.

LVC got off to a blazing start and netted the game's first six goals in just under eight minutes of action. Venezia got things started with a goal just 44 seconds in, followed by Sydney Zimmerman's unassisted tally at 28:41. After Venezia netted her second of the contest, Brittany Hathaway scored her 10th of the season at 26:36. Emily Beard then found the back of the net at 23:42, and Venezia netted her hat trick at 23:13.

Lycoming finally got on the board at 21:30 off Cecilia Massey's goal, followed by Emma Lehr's goal that made it a 6-2 game. That, however, was as close as the Warriors would get, as the Dutchmen ended the first half on a 10-0 run, including two goals from Jaclyn Little and Zimmerman, giving the home team a comfortable 16-2 lead after one half of action.

The Dutchmen picked up where they left off in the first half and began the second with two consecutive goals, beginning with Emily Haid's unassisted goal at 29:00. Veronica John followed it up with her third of the year, however Lycoming Erika Boyer netted an up-goal at 20:58 to make it 18-3. LVC continued to cruse and got two goals from Little and a pair from Beard down the stretch and went on to win easily at 24-3.
