ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Basketball team fell to a hot-shooting Messiah squad 68-40 in MAC Commonwealth action on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen fall to 5-5, 2-2 MACC on the season while the Falcons improve to 4-6, 2-2 MACC.
How It Happened
- The first half was all Messiah as they shot the lights out early on to grow an early 22-2 advantage over LVC. The Dutchmen struggled to get anything going at their offensive end as they shot just 5-for-24 in the first 20 minutes.
- Messiah built their lead hitting five three-pointers in the first 6:10. The Falcons finished the first half hitting 7-of-13 three-point attempts while the Dutchmen were just 1-for-12 as LVC went into the locker room trailing 36-15.
- The Dutchmen were unable to claw back into the game as Messiah continued to knock down shots to keep the lead to a least 20 throughout the second half and LVC would eventually fall 68-40.
Inside The Numbers
- Zach Tucker and Jevon Griffin led the Dutchmen offense with nine points each.
- Messiah's Matt Glogowski led all players with 19 points while also pulling down nine rebounds.
- LVC struggled from outside as they hit just 3-of-22 from deep. Messiah was on fire from three-point range, knocking down 13-of-27 attempts.
- The Dutchmen committed 17 turnovers compared to 11 by the Falcons.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen are back in action next Monday night when they travel to take on Gwynedd Mercy. Tip-off in Gwynedd Valley, Pa. is set for 7 p.m.
