Nazareth 4, Lebanon Valley 0
HERSHEY, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Ice Hockey team were blanked by league-leading Nazareth College 4-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen fall to 2-6, 1-5 UCHC on the season while the Golden Flyers' record remains unblemished at 8-0, 6-0 UCHC.
How It Happened
- The Dutchmen had opportunities in the first period as the Golden Flyers had nine penalty minutes, including a five-minute major, in the opening period but were unable to take advantage as they were held scoreless on the three power-play chances. After a majority of the period was played to a scoreless draw, the Golden Flyers would finally break through, getting on the board with just under two minutes left to play before intermission.
- Nazareth would put some space between them and LVC in the second as they were able to find the back of the net a pair of times in the middle stanza. After the Dutchmen killed off a penalty, Nazareth would score on a rebound to double their advantage. They would add another tally with 2:43 left in the frame to push their lead out to 3-0 with just 20 minutes left to play.
- The LVC offense struggled to gain any momentum as Nazareth was able to control most of the play in the Dutchmen defensive zone. The Golden Flyers would add a final tally in the third as LVC fell 4-0 to Nazereth.
