Muhlenberg 3, Lebanon Valley 0 (25-16, 27-25, 25-22)
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Volleyball team dropped a 3-0 contest at Muhlenberg in their season finale on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen finish their 2021 campaign with a 10-11 overall record while the Mules improve to 11-13.
How It Happened
- The Dutchmen held a 9-7 lead around the midway point of the opening set before the Mules would catch fire and win the next ten points to grab a commanding 17-9 lead. The Dutchmen would try to claw back into the set and got within five points but again the Mules went on a run, this time a four-point run, to end the set 25-16.
- In the second set, the two teams went back-and-forth through the midpoint of the frame with the teams tied 12-12 before Muhlenberg rattled off four straight points. Later in the set, LVC went on a four-point run of their own to grab a late 23-21 lead. However, the Mules would answer back and take the set 27-25 in a tiebreaker.
- The third set was full of runs by either team with each team not able to maintain a lead for long. Towards the end of the set, LVC led 22-19 but the Mules would win the final six points to take the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.
