ST. DAVID'S, Pa. – Abbie Keath netted a pair of goals and
Corinne Kearney pitched a shutout in Lebanon Valley Field Hockey's 2-0 win over Eastern on Wednesday afternoon. The Dutchmen improve to 8-8, 4-2 MACC on the season while the Eagles drop to 3-12, 1-5 MACC.
How It Happened
- After a scoreless first quarter that saw four shots by either side, the Dutchmen would crack the 0-0 contest with just over five minutes left into the second quarter. Abbie Keath would find the back of the goal at the 24:32 mark of the match to give the Dutchmen the 1-0 lead. Only 1:05 later, Lexi Ward would find Keath again who would find the back of the net to double LVC's lead.
- Corinne Kearney would stop the three shots she faced in the opening half to maintain the 2-0 lead for the Dutchmen into halftime.
- The Dutchmen defense would completely put the clamps down on the Eagles attack as Eastern was held to just three shots and none on target in the second half. LVC wouldn't add any additional goals in the final two quarters, but their stingy defense was enough to keep Eastern off the scoreboard and pick up the 2-0 win.
Inside The Numbers
- Abbie Keath netted a pair of goals in the win, giving her four on the year. This was also her first career multi-goal performance.
- Lexi Ward recorded her third assist on the season, which is tied for the most on the squad.
- Corinne Kearney made three saves to claim the shutout. This was her fourth shutout on the year.
Who's Next?
