How It Happened
LEXINGTON, S.C. – Lebanon Valley continued its hot start to the season by edging Roger Williams University 6-4 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. The Flying Dutchmen improved to 9-2, while the Hawks fell to 1-3.

LVC provided Brendan Ward, reigning MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week and D3baseball.com Team of the Week member, with some breathing room when Chris DeClerico tripled home Bryan Towers in the bottom of the first for the 1-0 LVC lead.

From there, Ward was cruising on the mound but ran into some trouble in the top of the sixth when Bonavita tied the game up at 1-1 with one swing of the bat, a solo shot to right field. Each team's offense broke out in the seventh inning, beginning with the Hawks when Gulino hit a two-run homer to left field, putting Roger Williams up 3-1. Later in the frame, Bonavita doubled home Roth, increasing the Hawks advantage to 4-1.

The Dutchmen hadn't found themselves trailing much in Florida or South Carolina, but answered the bell in a big way in the bottom of the seventh, beginning with DeClerico's sacrifice fly. Conor Smith later hit another sac-fly for LVC, and Michael Leri continued one of the most impressive weeks in Dutchmen history by launching another home run over the fence that tied the game up at 4-4. LVC kept things going and took the lead in the bottom of the inning when Josh Herring singled home TJ Holdredge. DeClerico provided some insurance with a sac-fly in the bottom of the eighth, and Brandon Crews tossed the final two innings to earn the huge save in LVC's 6-4 win.
