How It Happened
FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Lebanon Valley broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the sixth and eventually pulled away for a 6-3 victory over Drew University on Monday in non-conference baseball action on the Flying Dutchmen's spring break trip. LVC improved to 4-2, while the Rangers fell to 3-3.
The Dutchmen took control early when
Mitch Rickabaugh doubled home
Bryan Towers and
Chris DeClerico in the top of the second, giving LVC the early advantage. In the bottom of the same frame, Drew got one back when Cocchio scored on a passed ball. LVC then answered with one swing of the bat in the top of the third when
Michael Leri launched a home run to put the Dutchmen back on top at 3-1.
The Rangers again had an answer in the bottom of the fifth when Felsenstein doubled, followed by Bosch's RBI-groundout that evened the game at 3-3. In the top of the sixth, Rickabaugh came through in the clutch with an RBI-single that scored Towers, followed by
TJ Holdredge's sacrifice fly to center that scored
Conor Smith in the top of the seventh, giving the Dutchmen a 5-3 cushion. LVC's bullpen was strong in the win and allowed no further damage, as the Dutchmen went on to win the game by a 6-3 score.

Bryan Towers went 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored.

Conor Smith and
Mitch Rickabaugh registered two hits apiece, while Rickabaugh notched a game-high three RBI.

Kyle Kingsbury got the start on the bump for LVC and went 4 2/3 innings. He allowed just one earned run and struck out four.

Brendan Landry picked up his first collegiate win after throwing one inning of relief and striking out a pair.

Brandon Crews threw two innings and struck out a pair, while
Bryce Eberly pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn his first save of the season.
