How It Happened
FREDERICK, Md. – The Lebanon Valley women's basketball team dropped a back-and-forth battle at Hood College, 68-66, on Wednesday evening. The Blazers tied the game up with 35 seconds left in regulation before outscoring LVC 6-4 in the extra session. Emily Mealey tied a career-high with 32 points in the loss.

Mealey picked up a bucket to start the fourth quarter to give the Dutchmen a 48-43 advantage. The team would trade baskets for most of the period before the Blazers would regain the lead with a Mia Savoy layup at the 2:28 mark, 60-59. A Morgan Bamberger free throw on the Dutchmen's next possession would bring the game tied again. Bamberger would get fouled on an inbounds play with 37 seconds to play and knock down both free throws to give LVC a 62-60 lead. Morgan Anderson for Hood would put in a layup off an inbounds set for Hood to tie the game and send the contest to overtime.

In the extra period, neither team had much success on the offensive end as the teams combined for just 10 points in the five minutes. Hood would score the first four points quickly before going over three minutes without another point. Down four, Mealey and Sara White each hit layups to tie the game at 66 with 1:27 to go. With just five ticks on the clock, Savoy knocked down a jumper to give Hood the late lead. LVC had a look to win but came up short as the Blazers edged the Dutchmen, 68-66, in overtime.

The first half was back-and-forth with neither team able to stretch out a large advantage. LVC led by four points after the first 10 minutes but Hood would flip that score and lead by four at the intermission after outscoring the Dutchmen 21-13 in the second frame.
