How It Happened
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's ice hockey team was clicking on all cylinders, led by
Mychaela Pitta who scored a pair of goals for the Dutchmen, as LVC cruised to a 3-0 shutout victory over MAC foe King's (Pa.) on Saturday night.
Just past the midway point of the opening period, Pitta would strike for the first of her two goals on the evening. The Dutchmen were on the powerplay when Pitta found the back of the net off assists from
Taylor Brynteson and
Katie Pounder. LVC would take the 1-0 lead into the dressing room after the first period.
Jill Moffatt stopped all eight shots she faced in the opening frame.
LVC would pick up another goal late in the second period, this time off the stick of
Olivia Cindrich. Cindrich finished off assists from
Taylor Borrelli and
Chloe Glass to double the Dutchmen advantage. Despite having a pair of powerplay chances in the period, LVC was unable to add to their lead in the second period and took the 2-0 lead into the second intermission.
