ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Esports squad wrapped up another solid week last evening. After beginning the week with a 4-2 overall record, the Flying Dutchmen finished off the week by going 4-3 overall in a number of games. LVC's overall record now sits at an impressive 30-12.
On Thursday, the Dutchmen's Hearthstone squad, made up of
Eli Jones,
Brandon Kemmery, and
Wyatt Morrison, blanked James Madison University 3-0 to clinch a playoff spot in the non-varsity division.
Friday was busy for LVC as its Overwatch and Super Smash Bros. teams were in action. The Overwatch team of
Jacob Triano,
Benjamin McDonnell,
Colin Brophy,
Nikolai Neufeld-Kreider,
Grayson Rule, and
Cade Kassay, shut down Robert Morris University 3-0. Then,
Darrell Walker,
Corey Frederick,
Patrick Stone, and
Andrew Syslo fell to Southern New Hampshire University in Super Smash Bros. by a score of 2-0.
On Saturday, Overwatch stayed hot and blanked Central Michigan University 2-0, but then fell to Messiah University 2-0. LVC's Call of Duty team was in action this weekend in the Tespa COD Collegiate MQ Squads Rounds 1 and 2. In Round 1,
Jacob Layton,
Harold Bowman,
Andrew Kierce,
Ethan Filbert, and
Chris DeClerico shut out USC Sumter 2-0, but then on Sunday, Layton,
Peter Campagna, Kierce, Filbert, and DeClerico fell 2-1 to Northwood University in Round 2.
