W. Tennis Falls to Golden Wolves

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley suffered a 7-2 setback to Alvernia University on Wednesday afternoon at Shankroff Tennis Center in MAC Commonwealth women's tennis action. The Flying Dutchmen dropped to 4-8, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth and the Golden Wolves jumped to 11-4, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth.
 
In No. 3 doubles, Elizabeth Drda and Zoe Birch picked up an 8-3 victory over Leah Kemper and Maria Figurelli. Melanie Haas was narrowly edged by Amanda Phillips at No. 1 singles by a score of 7-6(4), 6-2. In No. 5 singles, Drda emerged victorious after a marathon match with Cassandra Bean. Bean took the opening set 7-6(10-8), but Drda battled back and evened the match at 1-1 after a 6-1 second-set win. In the decisive third set, Drda won 10-4 for the 2-1 win.
 
LVC heads to Frederick, Md. on Saturday, April 13th, to battle Hood College at 1 p.m.
