How It Happened
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lebanon Valley kept pace in the MAC Commonwealth by splitting with Lycoming on Saturday afternoon. Behind
Lexi Windsor, the Flying Dutchmen picked up a 3-0 shutout win in the opening game.
With Windsor pitching another gem, she received some run support in the top of the fourth when
Robin Feaster broke the 0-0 tie with a single to left, which allowed
Jen Kaufman and
Rylee Shockley to score. Next up was
Alison Noga, and she doubled home Feaster to increase the visitor's advantage to 3-0.
Once again, Windsor needed very little run support and she continued to dominate the entire game. In the bottom of the sixth, Windsor induced three consecutive groundouts, and then, in the bottom of the seventh, she retired the first two batters, but then allowed a single. The hit didn't faze her, though, and she got Nace to ground out to end the game for yet another complete-game shutout for Windsor.
Inside the Numbers
- Windsor earned her eighth win of the season after scattering seven hits and striking out four batters. The senior also didn't walk a batter.
- Noga finished 2-for-3 at the plate.
- Kaufman was 1-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base.
- Feaster led with two RBI.
- For the Warriors, Madison Brown and Liz Nace recorded two hits apiece.
