Eck Tabbed Defensive POTY to Lead WLAX All-Conference Picks

ANNVILLE, Pa.Jen Eck was named the Women's Lacrosse MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Year and garnered First-Team honors to lead Lebanon Valley in all-conference selections. Additionally, Veronica Venezia earned First-Team recognition, while Brittany Hathaway, Makenzie Kelley, and Morgan Ernst were named to the Second Team.
 
Ever since she put on an LVC uniform, Eck has limited the competition on the defensive side of the field. So far in 2019, she leads her team in caused turnovers with 33, and draw controls at 89. She's also scooped up 32 ground balls for the Flying Dutchmen. She's now a three-time All-MAC Commonwealth First Team pick, and in 2018, she was named to the IWLCA All-Metro Region Second Team.
 
Venezia picked up where she left off last year and had an impressive sophomore season. The 2018 MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year led LVC this season with 44 goals, 46 assists, and 90 points. She also collected 15 ground balls, caused eight turnovers, and controlled 35 draws. In the Dutchmen's 16-4 win over King's (Pa.) on March 19th, she broke the LVC single-game assists record with 10. She scored at least three goals in a game eight different contests in 2019.
 
Hathaway enjoyed a solid freshman season for LVC on offense. She ranked second on the team with 39 goals and 29 assists for 68 points. She also picked up 17 ground balls, caused 10 turnovers, and controlled 28 draws. She started all 16 games she appeared in, and against Susquehanna, she racked up four goals and six assists for 10 points. She then netted five goals in back-to-back games in wins against Hood and Lycoming.
 
Kelley earned All-MAC Commonwealth honors for the third consecutive season. The senior captain is a former IWLCA All-Metro Region Second Team honoree and a two-time All-Conference First Team pick. In 2019, she's accumulated 37 goals to rank third on the Dutchmen and she's also third with 56 points. She also got things done defensively, and scooped up 22 ground balls.
 
Ernst broke out for LVC defensively in 2019 to pick up her first-career All-Conference honor. She leads the Dutchmen with an impressive 49 ground balls and ranked second on the squad with 19 caused turnovers.
 
Widener's Kelly Lynch was named Offensive Player of the Year, while Stevenson's Caroline Murphy garnered Rookie of the Year honors and Widener's Kate Slade was tabbed the MAC Commonwealth's Coach of the Year.
