Messiah 5, Lebanon Valley 3
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's tennis team bowed out of the 2019 MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament after narrowly falling to Messiah 5-3 on Tuesday at Shankroff Tennis Center. The Flying Dutchmen finished their season at 11-6, while the Falcons moved on to the Championship match and jumped to 7-10.
Blake Martin and
Justin Schuetz picked up a victory in No. 2 doubles at 8-5, while
Luke Senft and
Ben Hinkley were narrowly edged 8-7 (7-5).
In singles action, Schuetz eased past Alex Mantsevich 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 2 singles spot, while
Elliott Kleckner narrowly dropped a straight-set match to Bryson Boettger 6-2, 7-5 in No. 4 singles. Senft also fell narrowly 6-3, 6-4 in No. 5 singles. Hinkley earned his second win of the day with a dominant 6-3, 6-0 win over AJ Swanson.
