How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen outscored the Hood Blazers 15-8 on Wednesday afternoon's Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth women's lacrosse matchup. The Dutchmen moved to 5-6, 2-1 MACC, while the Blazers dropped to 9-3, 1-1 MACC.
Lebanon Valley was the first on the board after
Brittany Hathaway netted one unassisted 34 seconds into the start of the game. LVC scored four more unanswered goals before the first 15 minutes of play putting the Dutchmen up 5-0. Hood had a quick come back after LVC's fifth goal and went on a five- goal run tying the game with 11:06 to go in the first half.
Veronica Venezia put Lebanon Valley back in the lead after finding the back of the net unassisted with 8:44 left in the half. Hood's Cassidy O'Neill tied it back up at 6-6 just 1:19 later. LVC took back the lead and would keep it for the remainder of the game after a goal from
Jaclyn Little and Hathaway both assisted from Venezia. The Dutchmen entered into the second half leading 8-6.
LVC scored two goals early in the second half giving the Dutchmen a four-point lead. Hood was able to get one past the defense, but Lebanon Valley went on another five-point run and led 15-7. The Blazers were able to score one more before the final buzzer, but that wouldn't be nearly enough as LVC went on to win 15-8.
