M. Lacrosse Picks Up Fourth Straight Win

How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley earned its fourth consecutive victory after pulling away from Hood late in the fourth to come away with a 13-10 win over the Blazers on Wednesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth men's lacrosse action. The Flying Dutchmen jumped to 6-5, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth, while Hood dropped to 8-2, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth.
 
LVC held a narrow 9-7 advantage heading into the fourth quarter, but back-to-back goals from the visitors at 12:04 and 11:15, respectively, tied the game at 9-9. Just under three minutes later, Trevor Holak scored what proved to be the game-winner from Evan Crawford to put the home team up 10-9. Kevin Beaver added two straight goals, his 34th and 35th of the season at 5:24 and 3:44, followed by another tally from Crawford, this time from Matt Torrence, to give LVC a four-goal lead at 13-9 with 2:03 to go. The Blazers' Kyle Scott netted a goal after the ensuing faceoff, but from there, the Dutchmen were able to run out the clock and hold on for the three-goal win.
 
Early on, Hood jumped out to a 3-2 lead with 6:30 left in the first and that score stood after one quarter of play. The Dutchmen overtook the advantage in the second thanks to four consecutive scores. Josh Croyle netted his first of the day, followed by Beaver's first at 13:22 of the second. Croyle later scored his second of the day and Max Warmingham gave the Dutchmen a 6-3 lead with 10:20 left in the quarter. The visitors netted two straight to come to within one at 6-5, but Croyle found the back of the net for the third time, followed by Beaver's second. The Blazers scored late in the second, but LVC was still up by two at 8-6 after two periods of action.
 
In the third, each defense clamped down and both teams scored just one goal each, including Beaver's tally from Warmingham with 2:40 left in the third.
 
Inside the Numbers
 - Beaver ended with five goals and three ground balls.
 - Croyle netted a hat trick to go along with three ground balls and a caused turnover.
 - Crawford went for two goals and one assists with two ground balls and a caused turnover.
 - Warmingham recorded a game-high three helpers.
 - Nick Mowry recorded an assist and collected one ground ball.
 - Cam Epple earned the victory in net after making 16 saves.
 - Courtland Hackel went 12-for-26 in faceoffs and scooped up a game-high nine ground balls.
 - Matt Torrence scored a goal and had one assist as well as four ground balls.
 - Grayson Zubradt paced Hood's offense with three goals and an assist, while Bentley LeBarron added three scores for the Blazers.
 - The Dutchmen led in total shots at 46-38, but the visitors held the edge in shots on goal at 26-24.
 - LVC went 17-for-24 in clears and the visitors were 14-for-19.
 - The Dutchmen led in total ground balls at 32-27.
 
Who's Next?
LVC looks to keep rolling on Saturday when the Dutchmen welcome Arcadia to Arnold Field at 1 p.m. in the team's seventh annual Crosse Out Cancer game.
