Lebanon Valley 7, Lycoming 2
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's tennis team locked up a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Postseason Tournament spot after a convincing 7-2 victory over Lycoming on Tuesday afternoon.
Before action began this afternoon, the Flying Dutchmen honored their two seniors in
Elizabeth Drda and
Rachel Duong.
In No. 2 doubles play, Duong teamed up with
Meridyth Sanders and earned an 8-3 win over Allyson Dugan and Kim Parroccini. Then,
Leah Wingert and Drda dominated Wiliana Lundy and Abby Flemming 8-1.
Duong added a win at No. 2 singles, defeating Brittany Lenze 6-0, 7-5, followed by
Emily Wilczek's narrow 6-4, 7-5 win over Lundy at No. 3 singles. Sanders cruised at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-3, while Drda took down Parroccini 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 singles and
Zoe Birch downed Flemming 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
LVC has clinched a postseason berth, but its seed is yet to be determined. The Dutchmen have now advanced to the MAC Commonwealth Tournament 14 straight seasons.
The Dutchmen head to Grantham on Saturday at 1 p.m. in its regular season finale against Messiah.
