How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley put up a good fight, but eventually fell to No. 7 The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference baseball action. The Flying Dutchmen dropped to 14-16, while the Lions improved to 23-3.

The visitors jumped out to a quick 1-0 advantage in the top of the first after David Cardona III's solo home run to right field and TCNJ then added another run in the top of the second to go up 2-0. For much of the game, LVC's offense was held in check by freshman Tom Kelly, and the Lions added three more runs in the top of the fourth, followed by two more in the top of the fifth to go up 7-0.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Dutchmen got on the board when Bryan Towers doubled to right center to plate Josh Marcelli, and in the bottom of the seventh, the home squad added three more runs, beginning with TJ Holdredge's single to left that scored Chris DeClerico. Later, Joey Wrabel scored via a balk, and Towers registered his second RBI of the day with a sacrifice fly that brought LVC to within three at 7-4.

In the top of the ninth, TCNJ added a pair of runs to extend its lead to 9-4. The Dutchmen made some noise in the bottom of the ninth and got a run back with Towers' RBI-groundout, but LVC was unable to push any more runs across and fell 9-5.
