How It Happened
CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener Pride outscored the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen 3-2 in game one of Saturday afternoon's doubleheader. The Pride advanced to 20-11, 5-4 Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MACC), and the Dutchmen dropped to 16-15, 6-5 MACC.
Both teams were knotted up in the first three innings as neither team crossed home plate. Widener was the first to score in the bottom of the fourth and the bottom of the sixth putting the Pride up 2-0 entering into the final inning.
In the top of the seventh,
Savannah Toth hit one deep into right center landing her on second and scoring
Annie McClain and
Jen Kaufman. The score was tied up at 2-2. Widener scored the final run of the game after Carli Benozich singled to right field platting Mikaela Lovell.

How It Happened
Widener scored eight unanswered runs to earn the victory over the Dutchmen 8-4 in game two of Saturday afternoon's doubleheader. The Pride jumped to 21-11, 6-4 MACC, and LVC fell to 16-16, 6-6 MACC.
The Dutchmen were the first to score in the opening inning after
Savannah Toth singled platting
Jen Kaufman. Toth advanced to third on a wild pitch, and
Rylee Shockley singled to left field and Toth crossed home plate. LVC kept the Pride at bay and went into the top of the second with the 2-0 lead. In the top of the second,
Robin Feaster was on third and Kaufman was on second with
Annie McClain up to bat. Both Feaster and Kaufman crossed home after an error by Widener, and the Dutchmen were up 4-0.
Widener started its run in the bottom of the third and scored two runs. In the bottom of the fifth, the Pride platted four more runs and gained the 6-4 lead. The Pride kept with the momentum and scored two more runs in the bottom of the sixth and had the 8-4 lead. LVC was unable to gain the lead back and fell to the Pride 8-4.
