How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Stevenson Mustangs outscored the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen 11-7 in Saturday afternoon's Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth women's lacrosse matchup. Lebanon Valley dropped to 4-6, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth, and Stevenson jumped to 6-3, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth.
 
Before the game, LVC honored its six seniors on Senior Day, including Makenzie Kelley, Jen Eck, Amanda Mellendick, Emily Federowicz, Julia Brewer, and Alexa Bash.
 
LVC was the first to score after Jaclyn Little with the assist from Makenzie Kelley found the back of the net 8:46 into the first half. Stevenson rebutted back with two goals in two minutes and six seconds. Kelley tied it at 2-2 with a goal 14:02 left in the half. With 8:30 to go in the first half, Stevenson went on a three-point run and entered into the the second half leading 6-3.
 
The Mustangs were the first to score 1:16 into the second half. LVC's Little scored two goals, one right after another, with the assists from Kelley and Brittany Hathaway and brought the Dutchmen within two (7-5). Halfway through the last half, Stevenson and Lebanon Valley's offenses were battling to gain control of the game. Stevenson netted one with 14:39 on the clock, but LVC was right behind putting one between the pipes 36 seconds later. The Mustangs regained its three goal lead scoring 42 seconds later and led 9-6. With 5:54 to go in the game, Veronica Venezia netted one with the assist from Hathaway bring the Dutchmen back to within two. Stevenson, however, answered back with two more goals and eventually won 11-7.
 
Inside the Numbers
- Jaclyn Little led the offense with three goals and six shots.
- Kelley, Hathaway, Venezia, and Bailey Dills scored a goal each.
- Kelley had three assists, and Hathaway was right behind with two.
- Hannah Oliveras led with six ground balls and had 10 saves.
- Amanda Mellendick, Jen Eck, and Morgan Ernst caused two turnovers each.
- Eck controlled five draws, the most on both teams.
- Carly Bowes led her teams with four goals.
- Stevenson led in shots on goal 21-19 and ground balls 16-14.
- LVC led in draw controls 11-9.

The Dutchmen head to Frederick, Md. to take on the Hood College Blazers on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 4 p.m.
