How It Happened
RYE, N.Y. – Lebanon Valley fell to Manhattanville 5-2 in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Quarterfinal round on Tuesday at the Playland Ice Casino. The Dutchmen finished their 2018-19 season with a 9-15-2 overall record, while the Valiants improved to 16-7-3 and moved on to the semifinal round against Elmira.

The Dutchmen set the tone with a short-handed goal by TJ Sneath from Brett Johnson 7:19 into the first period to take a 1-0 advantage. For the remainder of the period, Matt Forslund and LVC held off M-Ville's potent offense and the visiting Dutchmen led heading into second period action.

3:18 into the second, the Valiants struck and evened the game at 1-1 thanks to Braeden Cross' power-play goal. Exactly seven minutes later, Matt Lippa put Manhattanville ahead 2-1, and less than two minutes later, Nigel Slade put the Dutchmen's deficit at two when he found the back of the net. With less than six minutes remaining in the second, Skyler Pugh scored from Sneath, bringing the Dutchmen back to within one at 3-2 going into the final period.

In the third period, the Valiants scored an early goal 3:14 into the period when Marco Ferraro found the back of the net. From there, LVC was unable to complete the comeback and Manhattanville scored an empty-netter with 12 seconds left to advance the home team to the UCHC Semifinal.
