How It Happened
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen were blanked by the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons in their last game of the season in Sunday afternoon's non-conference women's ice hockey action. The Dutchmen dropped to 6-18-1, while the Red Dragons advanced to 14-8-3.
Cortland got off to a quick start when Grace Schnorr found the back of the net just 3:30 into the opening period. The Red Dragons took another 19 shots at Lebanon Valley's goal, but
Jill Moffatt held her own and didn't let another one pass for the remainder of the period.
The second period started in a similar fashion as the first. Cortland netted a goal in 2:20 into the period, and then scored another one just over two minutes later to increase the lead to 3-0.
In the final period of play, the Red Dragons netted two more goals and took a 5-0 lead. Despite the defensive efforts by the Dutchmen, LVC fell 5-0.
