How It Happened
CHESTER, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's soccer team finished their 2019 campaign with a hard-fought draw at Widener on Saturday evening. LVC finishes the season with a 5-10-1, 2-5-1 record while Widener improves to 11-6-2, 2-4-2.

The Dutchmen got on the board first around the midway point of the first half when Bridgett Finn played a ball in from the right wing that found the foot of Madison Carper. Carper would gather the ball and place a shot just inside the far post to put LVC ahead 1-0. Serena Donmoyer would save all four shots that came her way in the half and the Dutchmen carried that 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Widener offense would begin to assert themselves in the second half as they would outshoot the Dutchmen 10-3 in the second 45 minutes. In the 53rd minute, the Pride would break through as Lexi Slusher played a ball from near midfield over the LVC defense that Emily Schall would run under and gain control to put the ball in the back of the net to tie the score up, 1-1. Neither team would be able to grab that go-ahead goal for the remainder of regulation as the Dutchmen would head into their third consecutive overtime game.

In the two overtime periods, each team would have their opportunities but neither offense could find the back of the opposition's net and the game would end in a 1-1 draw.
