Series History
Saturday's game between the Dutchmen and Mustangs will be just the ninth meeting all time… The all-time series is tied 4-4… Stevenson just recently added a football program beginning in 2011… LVC won the first three meetings between the programs, but the Mustangs took the next three before the Dutchmen knocked off Stevenson on Homecoming in 2017… The Mustangs defeated LVC in Owings Mills, Md. last season by a score of 36-7.

Last Year vs. Stevenson
19 second-quarter points guided Stevenson to a 36-7 victory over Lebanon Valley back on Oct. 6, 2018. The afternoon didn't exactly start off on a high note, as LVC fumbled the opening kickoff and Keenan Franz recovered it at the Dutchmen's 49-yard line. LVC however, held the Mustangs off the scoreboard for the time being after Stevenson went three-and-out from there. Throughout much of the first quarter, neither team could get much going until the Mustangs hit a 21-yard field goal with 48 seconds remaining in the first to give Stevenson a narrow lead heading into the second quarter.

Just 58 seconds into the second quarter, the Mustangs scored the day's first touchdown when Vincent Lee returned a punt 52 yards to the house. The extra point was missed, so LVC only found itself down by nine at 9-0 early in the second. On the Dutchmen's ensuing possession, Kody Kegarise's pass was picked by Brody Coleman at LVC's 48-yard line. Later in the Mustangs' drive quarterback Ty Crabb ran for a 33-yard score and after the extra point was again wide, Stevenson went up by a 15-0 margin. Stevenson continued to dominate the quarter when Kegarise was again picked off, this time by Ashton Leschke at the Stevenson 36-yard line. Once again, Crabb used his legs to score yet another TD to put the Mustangs up 22-0 heading into halftime.

The Dutchmen finally gained some momentum in the beginning stages of the third quarter when LVC's Travis Fischer blocked a punt and recovered it at Stevenson's 36-yard line. From there, Ryan Fink capped an 8-play drive with a one-yard rushing TD to make it a 22-7 game in favor of the Mustangs. Stevenson unfortunately answered with a touchdown of its own when Chaz Lyles scored from the one-yard line to make it a 29-7 lead. The Mustangs went on to add another score in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach for the Dutchmen.

Last Time Out
LVC's two-game win streak was snapped by No. 11 Delaware Valley on Saturday, Oct. 26.  LVC got into a 6-0 hole fast when Del Val's Jamir Prevard ran the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown. On the Dutchmen's ensuing drive, QB Kody Kegarise found Cameron Niemeyer for a 33-yard pass, but LVC's drive stalled out and Nick Bentz came on to attempt a 50-yard field goal. The senior knocked the kick through the uprights to make it a 6-3 game. Bentz's 50-yarder was his career long, the longest in the MAC this season, and the second-longest in school history, only to Bob Muir's 51-yarder at Muhlenberg on Oct. 16, 1982.

From there, the home team put together a massive 16-play, 75-yard drive, capped by Donte Simmons' two-yard rushing TD, to put the Aggies ahead 13-3 near the end of the opening quarter. Early on in the second quarter, after the home team forced an LVC punt, the Aggies posted another long drive, this time a nine-play, 85-yard drive that ended with QB Anthony Fontana's nine-yard TD to Nate Pauls that put Del Val up 20-3.

The Aggies' defense continued to cause fits for LVC's offense and on the Dutchmen's next drive, Kegarise's pass was picked up Prevard and returned to LVC's 47-yard line. Later, Del Val turned that interception into points when Colin Fasolka hit a 38-yard field goal that put the Aggies up 23-3 with 2:23 remaining in the second quarter. After the Dutchmen's three-and-out, Del Val scored another touchdown after Fontana found John Davis for a 31-yard reception TD and the home team went into halftime with a commanding 30-3 advantage.

On LVC's opening drive of the third quarter, the drive ended with a pick by B. Netterman at the 50-yard line. Once again, the Aggies took advantage of an LVC turnover and scored on DaQuan Bohannan's six-yard touchdown throw to Cooper Russell to make it 37-3 in favor of the home team early in the third. Near the end of the third, Del Val added another TD and scored one more late in the fourth, as the No. 14 team in the country went on to win by a 51-3 score.

Previewing with Coach Buehler
Head coach Joe Buehler '89 sat down to discuss last week's tough matchup at Delaware Valley and provided a look ahead to this weekend's contest against Stevenson and the Pink Game.

Pink Game
LVC will holds its annual Pink Game on Saturday in hopes of continuing to raise breast cancer awareness, and particularly to remind female fans and family to be screened regularly for breast cancer. Baked goods and t-shirts will be sold, and a number of coaches, players, and cheerleaders will be wearing pink sweatbands, bows, and ribbons.

LVC's Offense
The Dutchmen's offense struggled against the No. 11 team in the country this past week. Kody Kegarise threw for just 97 yards, while Hunter Wilson was held in check after posting career numbers the week before at Widener. Patrick Clark led LVC's receiving core with 51 yards on five receptions, and Cameron Niemeyer caught two balls for 34 yards. Wilson is still enjoying a breakout senior season and ranks second in the MAC with 120.4 rushing yards per game and is third with seven rushing TDs.

LVC's Defense
Last week against Del Val, Tyler Lutz posted a team-high seven tackles, while Brendan Yetter, Brandon Brubaker, and Brad Shear each registered six tackles and Josh Skotek added a team-high two sacks. Dillon Estes remains near the top of the MAC with 59 total tackles, good for fourth, while Brubaker is fourth with 4.5 sacks.

LVC's Special Teams
Against the Aggies last Saturday, Nick Bentz knocked through a 50-yard field goal, which was his career-long and the longest in the conference this season. It was also the second-longest in school history, only to Bob Muir's 51-yarder at Muhlenberg on Oct. 16, 1982.

Scouting Stevenson
The Mustangs go into Saturday's action with a 5-2 overall mark and a 4-1 record in conference action. The Dutchmen will need to figure out a way to stop QB Ryan Sedgwick, who ranks second in the MAC with 294.9 passing yards per game and 20 TD passes, also good for second in the league. WR Chaz Lyles is second in the MAC with 107.4 receiving yards per contest and has hauled in six touchdowns.

Who's Next?
LVC hosts Lycoming next Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m in the Dutchmen's regular season home finale. The game will also serve as LVC's Senior Day.
