SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley women's tennis returned to action at Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon, falling 6-3 to the River Hawks at SU's Garrett Center Courts.
Melanie Haas and
Emily Wilczek got things started for the Flying Dutchmen (0-2) in doubles action, as the pair defeated Suquehanna's Abagail Ransom and Eliza Griffin 8-5 in the No. 1 showdown.
Leah Wingert and
Elizabeth Drda also fought hard before dropping an 8-6 decision to Holly Young and Christina Rudderow in the third outing.
In singles play, it was
Zoe Birch picking up the first win for LVC. The sophomore defeated SU's Anna Ream 6-4, 7-5 in the No. 6 matchup.
Meridyth Sanders had to go three sets to earn her victory but eventually she pulled out a 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 decision over Cassey Fox in the fourth contest.
The Dutchmen return to action when they travel to take on Scranton on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 25. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
